The Sacrament of Confirmation completes the process of our initiation into the Church.
In the Confirmation ceremony the Bishop calls upon the Holy Spirit to strengthen our faith and our commitment to following Christ by the laying on of hands and anointing with sacred Chrism. The ceremony may take place in our own parish, or may be consolidated into a larger group at a different parish. Numbers will dictate how and where the ceremony will take place.
In this diocese, Confirmation is celebrated for young people in Year 8 at secondary school. Young people wishing to be confirmed are invited to register their intention to be confirmed via the website - https://www.liverpoolcalled.co.uk. After registration the young people will receive catechesis from the Catholic School they attend, or locally if they do not attend a catholic high school. Parish meetings will also be arranged.
If you require any further information please contact us at our parish email address shown alongside or directly to Deacon Jim at [email protected]

Confirmations 2026
It's that time again when we look towards confirmation for our young Y8 children. Please take a look at the attached poster which has details on how to register and where to send the completed application forms. The application form is available below as a download so it can be printed and completed offline.
Application forms will go to high schools this week but it may also be necessary to ensure that parents in primary schools are aware in case they have children in Y8.
All forms should go to Fr Dave at Blessed James Bell but they can also be processed locally in parish and we will sort out the process from there.

There are a few details which will be communicated over the coming weeks to ensure our eligible children are well prepared for this Sacrament. Animate will visit schools and at the same time, schools will teach about the Sacrament in their RE classes.
