Welcome to the St. Peter and St. Michael parish website. We are a Roman Catholic parish belonging to the Archdiocese of Liverpool and a part of the Warrington and Widnes Deanery. SS Peter and Michael is an open, friendly and generous catholic community in Woolston on the outskirts of Warrington. 

In the spirit of the Pope, the Bishop of Rome, our parish is welcoming to all, so whether you are young, old, married, single or divorced, and whatever your gender or sexuality, 

there is a place for you in our parish!

St Maria Goretti

On Monday we remember St Maria Goretti, the patron saint of chastity, youth, poverty, purity and forgiveness, who was canonised by Pope Pius XII in 1950. Born in 1890 in Corinaldo, Italy, into a family of poor farmers, she was fatally stabbed at the age of 12 fighting to defend her honour. She forgave her assailant and expressed her wish for him to join her in heaven. Sentenced to 30 years in jail he later repented and became a lay brother in a monastery on release, praying for her every day.
