The Stephanie Glynn Foundation was created by her husband and close family members, named in honour of, and as a legacy to, Steph after she tragically died from a brain tumour in January 2021.

 

Steph adored children and likewise, they doted on her. It had always been a dream to raise children of her own. In Steph's name, the charity will help children who are less fortunate than others.  Like Steph herself, the charity will be a force for good and one that has a positive impact on young people, helping them to try and enjoy life to the full, the way that she always did.

 

The foundation will make grants to other charities or charitable projects that are focused on helping babies, children or young people under the age of 29 and with a particular focus on:

 

  • Improving child patient care, experience and environment
  • Funding research into better treatment for childhood cancers and other diseases
  • Support for children suffering from extreme financial hardship, especially those whose situation may be compounded by ill health
  • Education and training for children to pursue their goals, in particular those held back by financial hardship

Winter Wonderland 2024

We would like to offer a big THANK YOU to With Love, Steph who worked with us to create a great night on Saturday Nov 30 at Winter Wonderland!

 

This year, With Love, Steph is supporting The Toy Appeal in their mission to make Christmas magical for thousands of children living in poverty.

 

They have pledged to raise £6,250, which will fund 250 of their incredible toy sacks for children who would otherwise wake up without presents.

 

We are so grateful to have been a part of their fundraising journey and want to thank Trev, John, Carol and their team for all they did to bring Winter Wonderland together!

 

A sum in the region of £800 was raised on the evening, which will be split between the With Love Steph charity and the parish. The money raised doesn't just go TO the charity, but THROUGH the charity to help provide sacks of toys for underprivileged children. The parish also benefits from the money raised to help with parish projects. This really is a WIN-WIN type of event. Thank you all for your support.

Garden Gala

John Glynn (Chair of Parish Council) writes:

 

On behalf of the with love Steph Charity we would like to thank all our Parishioners and friends of St. Peters and Michael's Church for their warm welcome to the charity at our latest fundraising event the Garden Gala, held on 7th July 2024.  The event was a huge success despite the weather being a little bit disruptive in the lead up to the day.

 

The day began on a high with Mass for the Grandparents and the Elderly which had so many prayers from the children at St. Peters school which was lovely, then it was on into the garden for the festivities which included a BBQ, stalls with many cakes, crafts and games for the children. We even had a bar, indeed something for everyone. It brought our community together which is so important for many different reasons, it gave us a feeling of unity for everyone and more importantly it raised over £1,000.00 for a very deserving cause Rubys Charity. The funds raised will go towards funding the running of a Sensory Bus, which costs £7,500.00 per year to run. This bus travels from one community to another providing fun and education for children with special needs.  So, well done to all our many volunteers who helped us on the day and all who contributed by buying food, drinks, crafts etc. We hope you all had a great day because all of us at the With Love, Steph Charity did and a huge shout out for all the donations of cakes, crafts etc which were given to us on the day.
