A day of action for Ethiopia

Have you heard about what's happening in Ethiopia? Conflict, droughtand displacement mean that 4.5 million people in Tigray urgently need emergency food aid.  We’re standing with the charity Mary’s Meals to raise awareness of the situation. We have a chance to stop this crisis before it spirals out of control.

Please share this message. If we all speak up, we can give a voice to those who are hungry.

Mary’s Meals – Double the Love  2023/24

From 22 November 2023 to 22 January 2024, donations made to Mary’s Meals will be doubled by a group of generous supporters, up to £1million. Today, we face some of our greatest challenges yet in a world devastated by conflict, food insecurity and the cost of living crisis, which we know is affecting people here in the UK as well as in the countries where we work, such as Syria, Haiti and South Sudan. With Double the Love, your donation will be matched and your kindness will go even further – meaning we can reach even more desperately hungry children with a life-changing school meal. There are many ways to get involved, find out more at https://www.marysmeals.org.uk/

Pray in May  with Mary’s Meals

In this month dedicated to Our Lady we invite you to join us in praying for the work of Mary’s Meals, a mission carried out in Our Lady’s name to feed children a daily school meal in some of the world’s poorest communities. This meal brings children into the classroom where they can get an education, offering hope of a better future. Our work began with prayer, and prayer has sustained our rapid growth - from feeding 200 children in 2002 to feeding over 2.4 million children today. Please join us in praying for:

·       all the children who receive Mary’s Meals

·       all those who have grown up eating Mary’s Meals and gone out into the world as adults

·       all the children still waiting for Mary’s meals, that we will be able to reach them soon.

A prayer for hope

Thank you for the hope that life-changing meals bring to the communities that Mary’s Meals serve. May the work of Mary’s Meals help to bring hope and strength to the world and may those children whose lives have been transformed by receiving Mary’s Meals use their education and voices to change their communities for the better. Amen
