Calling all crafters!

Our Creative Crafters have been meeting every couple of weeks since the inception of the club in October 2024. They have been repurposing the old parish missals, redundant since the advent of the new Lectionary in 2024 which was put into use at the start of liturgical year C. Rather than just disposing of the old books, an idea to use them to craft candles, angels, mice, cats, dancers, owls (the list is endless) by folding the pages of the old books and in doing so creating some wonderful, desirable objects for many occasions such as weddings, birthdays, special occasions and obviously Christmas, was born. The group, led by Ingrid Walklett, has learned to craft these items and they have been able to sell quite a large number to members of the parish and beyond and they've added much needed coppers to the parish coffers. If you've not been before, why not give it a try.

Some of the stunning work will continue to be visible in the porch and is available to purchase. There are still some items available for sale at the back of church and also in the Millenium Room. Since it's inception, the crafters have sold over £1,000 worth of items, the profit from which, after costs are removed, will be going to parish funds to enable us to continue some of the great work being undertaken in maintenance of the church and it's grounds with an eye on future projects too.

We also had the products available on our Winter Wonderland on November 30th 2024 and a great number were sold on the night. Also, a donation has been made to  "With Love, Steph"  for this year's children's Christmas gifts project to add to the funds raised through on the night. Thank you so much to all involved.

"Thank you to Ingrid and the team of creative crafters who have worked tirelessly to produce some beautiful gifts out of  recycled parish mass books."

Why not take a collection of the six old Mass volumes home if you so wish (Full sets of 6 Mass Books are available. We suggest a minimum £2 donation if that's ok.)

There should be enough for all. Prices are on the sheet behind the display. All proceeds to parish funds.

Please take a look at the displays in the porch for purchase or join us on the Thursday mornings as mentioned above, either way you don't want to be disappointed! (2025 schedule tbc)

If you do wish to join, please just turn up. A lot of fun was had at the  sessions as can be seen from the photos below. Dates for future sessions will be mentioned on the upcoming events section on the right hand panel of every page on the website.

Happy Folding!
