Nugget Reverse Advent Calendar 2023

At Christmas time we are reminded of the pressing challenges that many people across Merseyside face. The cost-of-living crisis and the deepening poverty in our community demand our immediate attention and action. It is in these times of crisis that we must come together to make a difference, to offer hope, and to build brighter futures.

We need your help securing donations for our Reverse Advent Campaign.

Out of a total of 370 local authorities, Liverpool is currently ranked third most deprived. Poverty has a particularly devastating impact on children. Over 40% of children under the age of 16 in Liverpool are classed as being in poverty, with 20% of those classed as absolute poverty, meaning they have a severe deprivation of basic human needs including food, safe drinking water, sanitation, health, shelter, and education.

Our reverse advent calendar campaign will help us raise vital funds for Nugent’s ‘Our Future Now’ project, which focuses on accommodation, poverty alleviation, employability, and making memories. With your support, we can show those in our care and communities that their future is bright.

We are delighted to invite you to our Light up a Life services this year. We have two services taking place:

• Sunday 10^th December 2023 at 3pm at St Teresa’s Church, Up Holland led by Father Philip Kehoe, followed by refreshments
• Friday 15^th December at 12:30pm at the The Metropolitan Cathedral, Liverpool led by Bishop Tom Williams, followed by refreshments

Light up a Life is an opportunity to sponsor a light on Nugent’s Tree of Light in memory or in honour of a loved one. It is a chance to celebrate the life of someone special and make a difference to the lives of those Nugent are supporting this Christmas.

Light up a Life is traditionally the time where we gather for a service of remembrance, thinking about those we have loved and lost, sharing our grief with others; but also celebrating the very special place they had in our lives. We hope that you can join us this year.
