Welcome!

Welcome to the St. Peter and St. Michael parish website. We are a Roman Catholic parish belonging to the Archdiocese of Liverpool and a part of the Warrington and Widnes Deanery. SS Peter and Michael is an open, friendly and generous catholic community in Woolston on the outskirts of Warrington.

In the spirit of Pope Francis, Bishop of Rome, our parish is welcoming to all, so whether you are young, old, married, single or divorced, and whatever your gender or sexuality,

there is a place for you in our parish

So, come on in, there's a seat waiting for you, and welcome to our home!

This Week

Shut that door!

During the winter months, as well as at times of inclement weather, we will be keeping the external porch doors closed during Mass, but we will keep the glass doors open.

We are getting plastered!

You will all be aware, defective plaster has been removed from the west wall in the Church in order to understand the depth of the work required to fix it. A contractor has now been appointed and remedial work will commence on Monday 18th. November. This work will take approximately 2 days  and will necessitate the removal of several benches and the installation of a scaffold tower. We expect the tower to be in position for one week which will hopefully allow us the opportunity to let the new plaster dry and apply at least two coats of emulsion.

We apologise for the disruption, which will unfortunately include the cancellation of the Monday morning mass. Red Wednesday will continue as normal and we will attempt to minimise any other issues.

Thank you for your understanding.

Ansafone and Voice Messages

After many issues with the ansafone in the presbytery we have replaced the ansafone and telephone. If you have left messages in the course of the last few days, could you please feedback to us your experience with the new equipment. We do apologise to those who have left messages and not had responses, but hopefully these issues are now resolved.

Racial Justice:  A Message from Archbishop Malcolm

As we celebrated World Mission Sunday, Archbishop Malcolm invited us to reflect on diversity of the Universal Church and in our parishes and communities.  In his video message on racial justice, the Archbishop echoes the Pope’s message, “Go and invite everyone to the banquet!”, and shares some practical ways you can do this at a local level. Please watch his video below:

Christmas has arrived!

It's true, a delivery of our seasonal cards, gifts and other trinkets has arrived and now sits resplendent front and centre of our Piety Stall in the porch. Please do take a look at what's on offer, we're sure you will be happy and desperate to spend your money ... and don't forget to take a look at the offerings from our Creative Crafters who are making some wonderfully inventive mementos of the gospel from our now out of date mass books. A wonderful Christmas gift or even not just for Christmas. It's better than  a puppy!

Please take a look, there are some wonderful things to tempt your purse.
